Daddy Felt A Kick!

August 11, 2014 :  Daddy finally felt you kick for the first time!!! Mommy had been waiting for a couple weeks and knew it was only a matter of time before I could get your little foot and his hand in the right spot at the right time! His face lit up with a huge smile.

Grandmom visited over the weekend and was able to feel you move but not a strong kick like daddy. (Glad you saved a big kick for him since she actually felt you first!) She helped me get the nursery cleared out and organize lots of things. Hopefully your room will be set up within the next few weeks!

Mommy had her first prenatal massage. We'll have to go try a different person and place next time. It wasn't a good massage, nor was it very comfortable.... and we're really going to need some relaxing pampering in the next couple months as we both get bigger!

You're moving more and your kicks are getting a lot stronger. I day dream about your little face, what you'll be like as you grow, and all our days together. Love you to the moon and back.

23 Weeks!

How far along?
23 weeks

Baby's Size?
About 11 inches and 1 lb

Boy or Girl?
BOY!!

Fun Facts About Baby?
As of right now, he is nameless. We just can't seem to decide on "the" name.

Little boy kicks and although I can feel it, it's not super strong. My placenta is in the front of my belly (anterior) so it cushions the kicks. This also means it might take a little longer for us to feel kicks on the outside of the belly.

(taken from a website) "Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb."

How is Mommy Doing?
  • Symptoms?   Lots of heartburn. A squished bladder.
  • Mood?  This summer heat makes me irritable. I'm ready for cooler weather!
  • Cravings?  One morning I had a craving for a mint chocolate chip shake. Fruit always sounds good!
  • Dreams? When I dream... they're so weird.
  • Body Differences? Everything feels big. Big butt. Big boobs. Big belly. Sigh.

How is Daddy Doing?  He starts another year of med school next week. He's been working like crazy around the house: building, painting, fixing, and preparing.... and doing a great job!

How's the Nursery? Hopefully it will be starting soon. We've almost completely finished redoing the guest bedroom (making it both an office and a guest room) after that' is all finished we'll start working on the nursery!

We're Looking Forward To:  Having the house in order with all the rooms set up and ready to go! Also, Tony is pretty anxious to start being able to feel the baby kick at my belly.

My new mommy-mobile! I absolutely love it.
