My Old High Chair

Grandmom had Mommy's high chair from when I was little redone!

It's so cool to see you in this chair (and what an adorable smile!!). I can't wait to see how many babies will get to enjoy this high chair in the years to come!

Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the YEAR!! Merry Christmas!

We are so thankful to have been in Tulsa this month for all the fun & festivities of the Christmas season this year. Our hearts are full. We've had SO much fun-- family, friends, Christmas lights, Christmas music, meeting Santa (the second attempt was so much better), plaid pjs, and even a couple great date nights!! Life with a child brings a new perspective to everything-- It's so fun and exciting to experience these things and watch the wonder and excitement in your eyes.

We love all the festivities, but let's never forget the little babe of Bethlehem.
I can't help but hold my own baby and think of Mary. Her thoughts, her feelings, her surroundings.
Just a mom, giving birth to a little baby.... but, oh, so much more. The miracle of it all.
Mary, Did You Know?

Rotation Recap: Emergency Medicine

I told Tony that he should journal after each rotation so he can look back at all the pro's and cons. I don't know if he'll actually do it, but I thought I'd write down some of my thoughts....
after all, one of these will be the career path he chooses!

Emergency Medicine:
TULSA!!!!!! <--- Need I say anything more?!?
I think EM was a great learning and growing experience for him. He had lots of experience stitching people, helping with procedures, and truly growing as a doctor and learning.
Pro: lots of different stories, different people, and only 8 hour shifts. Cons: some stories are absolutely heartbreaking, some patients are awful, it's high stress, and the shifts are all over the place (so glad E and I could be with family during overnight shifts).

Do I think this will be his career?
No. I think he will probably moonlight in an ER, but I don't think this would be a very good full-time career.

Now for Christmas break!!!     (VERY GOOD THING.)
Then we move into Surgery.    (VERY BAD THING.)
