2 Months with Anderson

Anderson, you are TWO months!!

It's been a long, exhausting, happy, challenging, emotional, and quick month.
Summed up, it's been a little bit of everything.

I'm trying so hard to figure out how to make things easier for you with this reflux stuff. It breaks my heart that you're struggling so much and seem to be so uncomfortable. You're on a different medicine now. I stopped eating all diary (well, for the most part... sometimes I mess up, dairy is in everything and it turns out I really like milk/cheese products). I had an appointment with the lactation consultant and we're trying to get my overabundant milk supply under control; I'm only pumping and giving you bottles because it seems to be a lot easier for you. We pretty much hold you upright around the clock since laying you on your back makes the spit up worse. It's hard, but I'll do whatever it takes to make you feel better. One of the positives to this is that we get A LOT of snuggle time! I'm pretty sure if there was ever a guinness record for baby that's held the most, you'd hold the record! Every once in a while I can put you down and swaddle you up, but the older you get the less you like to be swaddled. I bet you end up being like your brother... can't stand blankets at all! Haha! You are gaining weight and do have moments when you're happy and smiling and it melts my heart! You are the cuddliest, squishiest, softest baby... and you have the cutest feet I've ever seen. Seriously, I thought Elliott's feet were cute (and they were!) but there's something about your little feet that just make me obsessed! I love you so much and I love that I'm getting to know your little personality as it shines through more and more. You love your momma, the sound of the hair dryer, the taste of gripe water, your pacifiers, and being held. You are ending the month with some nasty congestion, but you love the sound of the shower so we've been doing a lot of sitting in the steamy bathroom together; it seems like middle of the night is when it's the worst and at least the steamy bathroom is relaxing for both of us!

This month we spent some time in Tulsa which was fun! The dogs are still at Grandmom and Grandpops and you're not exactly sure how you feel about the sound of them barking. I think as you get older you're going to love Molly and she's going to love you, too! Elliott has given her good practice in being patient and loving despite being pestered.

Daddy started back at school/work. We were so so so lucky that he was able to schedule so much time off. If you're going to be a med school baby, this is the perfect year for it! We miss him during the days now, but he's still a huge help when he's here and give you lots of snuggles... and lets me sleep! It's a win-win all around.

We had match day and found out that we're staying here in OK! Dad got his #1 pick which means we'll be moving to Edmond!! If you ever wondered why we didn't set up a nursery for you, it's for a couple reasons. You sleep in the room with us anyway, but we also knew that a move would be inevitable so we wanted to wait until we got a new house and give you a brand new room! And, a third reason, is that Grandmom comes to help a lot and so I really wanted to keep a guest room for her so she'd be more comfortable and come more often! Haha.

It was a good month. Time is going by kind of quickly but it's fun watching you grow. I know these days will seem like a blink of an eye at some point so I'm trying my very best not to rush them and just enjoy all the little joyful moments.

Elliott,
You are such an awesome big brother! You looooove holding Anderson, or as you call him: "Mia". You also love smelling his hair. Haha! You love singing, dancing, playing your instruments (blowing the trumpet while holding a tambourine and maraca in each hand) and marching around the house, snapchat filters that make you look funny, riding your big horse in the entry way and singing your "giddy up little pony song", and being a big helper with the dogs and Anderson.... but you also make a lot of messes with your toys and sometimes get into Mommy's makeup when Daddy is on duty (see picture)! And, no surprise-- you still hate sleeping! You are talking, singing, joking, hilarious, and just seem like such a big boy these days... even asking to go in the potty. I just don't think I'm ready for potty training yet! Even on my most tired days, you make me laugh and give me more than a million reasons to smile.

Both you boys brighten our days so so very much.
