Welcome to the BEACH!!
Elliott, this is the same exact beach where I first heard the waves and discovered sand when I was a baby, just a little bit younger than you. And just like you, my mom walked along the shore line rocking me to sleep when it was nap time. I'm so happy to introduce you to this place I love! The best thing in the world is seeing you explore and enjoy new things.
At first you weren't too crazy about the waves, but before we knew it, you were splashing like crazy and giggling with delight! It helps that low tide is in the afternoons and creates the perfect beach for babies with gentle, shallow waves and lots of room to crawl on wet sand. Speaking of wet sand, you tried eating it a couple times and quickly learned that it's pretty gross. :)
Months ago, I wasn't sure if you'd be crawling yet... HA!! You are ALL over the place! You are quite the little entertainer and full of so much energy. We brought your walker and you zoom all over the rooms. Your Great Grandmom always says, "Wow! He sure does have energy. Does he ever slow down?" She has been around many many babies in her days and says she gives you the award for the happiest and most energetic one yet... She also frequently asks if you ever sleep. (Ha! That's probably a hint that she needs some quiet time.) We've enjoyed great time with family, pretty beach days, a nice dinner at Wharfside, Hoffmann's ice-cream and so much more-- so many memories being made!
We are really having a great time. It's a vacation full of lots of celebrations.
I'm laying in the bed, with the doors to the balcony opened and I can hear the waves crashing-- life is so beautiful. Sometimes I just don't understand how I managed to get this lucky.
