I told Tony that he should journal after each rotation so he can look back at all the pro's and cons. I don't know if he'll actually do it, but I thought I'd write down some of my thoughts....
after all, one of these will be the career path he chooses!
Pediatrics:
Wow. That was good and terrible all rolled into one rotation. Things like child abuse and horrible parenting should never exist. On the other hand, some kids and parents are awesome and made the rotation really fun for Tony. I think he liked the clinic and the newborn services but would be 100% a-ok if he never had to do impatient pediatrics again!
Do I think this will be his career?
I don't think he'll be a pediatrician but I think he'll be happy to see kids in his family practice.

We made it!! We always heard 3rd year was the worst; it definitely lived up to its reputation but in a weird way, I also think it was the best so far, too. I can't even describe how much of a change I witnessed in Tony over this past year. His knowledge, his work ethic, his CARE for patients... He grew so much and I know that he is going to make the best doctor ever!
